The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), is an organization focsed on Internet standards and specifically the technical specifications that make up the Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP).
All of its members are volunteers, and neither a formal membership list nor requirements exist.
Employers or other sponsors typically pay for their efforts.
Although the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) was first funded by the US federal government, it has been run since 1993 by the Internet Society, a global non-profit organization.
