Mean Time to Respond (MTTR), also known as Mean Time to Response, is the average amount of time needed to restore a system to operational status upon notification of a breakdown or cyberattack
The functional security of hardware and software is characterized by MTTR, which may also be used to evaluate the effectiveness of a group of information security experts. The period of time when an issue was there but unidentified is not taken into consideration by the mean time to respond. The Mean Time to Detect is the name of such time (MTTD). The sum of a cyber incident’s MTTR and MTTD is its overall length.
