An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is a device that provides a backup source of power in the event of a power outage. It generally consists of a battery and an inverter, providing a continuous source of electricity to a load when the main power source fails. The UPS will provide a few minutes of power so that computers and other equipment can be shut down properly.
For information about UPS, please view guidance on this topic from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
